Explore Trails + Water at Franklin Lakes Nature Preserve

Registration is closed for this event
Enjoy a full day of activity with the Lower Hudson PRISM’s Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator, Merrell, and Ramsey Outdoor for a full exploration of this beautiful preserve.

In 2016, the Trail Conference completed a trail network to enhance the beautiful Franklin Lakes Nature Preserve. We will be taking our adventures to both land and water to highlight our trail work and showcase the work we are doing with the Lower Hudson PRISM’s Aquatic Invasive Species.

Guided Hike: 9:30 a.m.
Join an outdoor expert from Ramsey Outdoor to explore the preserve on this ~2-mile hike. While exploring the Upper Lake (a.k.a. Haledon Reservoir), enjoy views of High Mountain, check out Basalt Beach, and Cross over the water on the scenic Island Bridges Trail.

Invasive Aquatics Workshop on Upper Lake: 9:30 a.m.; 10:45 a.m. and 12 p.m.
Join the Lower Hudson PRISM’s Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator to learn what's in the water! You will learn how to identify invasive plants living and our efforts to eradicate them. 3 tandem kayaks and 3 canoes will be available during each session.

The Lower Hudson PRISM’s Aquatic Invasive Species is part of the Trail Conference Conservation Corps, funded by the Lower Hudson PRISM. Learn more about the Lower Hudson PRISM’s Aquatic Invasive Species and the efforts to identify and manage aquatic invasives.

Space is limited, please register.
