We are off to an incredible start to the field season so far in 2019! We have had approximately 166 volunteers contribute over 1850 hours to invasives trail and park work since the beginning of the year. This work has included over 35 miles of trails that have been fully surveyed (plus data submitted!) thus far in addition to 7 volunteer work days and several more Habitat Helper workdays. Amazing! Volunteer survey interns Nicholas George and Elinor Stapylton have dedicated the most hours (50 hours apiece) to invasives survey work this year, focusing primarily on trails in Mills Norrie State Park in Dutchess County. Thank you for your hard work and efforts to both survey and report data back to us!
The following volunteers have both completed surveying and submitted data for over 3 miles of trails in the month of June: Fatima Waheed, Max Hadden and Mark Weis. Congratulations also to Lauren Abderhalden and Georgette Weir have both completed and submitted data for our first Blockbuster surveys in 2019! Thank you so much for your dedication and for following through with data submission!
We would also like to thank Rich Kassel, Artemis Kassel Venetis, and Stephen Rose who have each contributed over 13 hours to helping with the ISF Crew on volunteer work days!
A special thanks also goes out to Diane VanKempen, Linda Young and Carole Baligh who have each contributed over 13 hours of volunteer work to our Habitat Helper program to help make the landscape outside the Darlington Schoolhouse beautifully native! |
