Road Closures on Route 202 at Trail Conference Headquarters

Body

The Trail Conference has been informed by the State of New Jersey, Bergen County, and Mahwah Township that Route 202 will be closed for replacement of the culvert located just north of Trail Conference Headquarters at the Darlington Schoolhouse.

January, 21 2018 Update: The Ramapo Valley Road Culvert Replacement project is now complete, and Route 202 is open just north of Trail Conference Headquarters.

October, 18 2017 Update: Please be advised that the Bergen County is issuing a revised construction schedule for Ramapo Valley Road Culvert Replacement project Township of Mahwah as follows:

"Ramapo Valley Road Culvert Project Schedule  - The original date set for re-opening Ramapo Valley Road north of Darlington was established as the end of October. For various reasons, including significant utility relocation delays, that date will not be met. The County is requesting that the contractor sufficiently advance the project in order to re-open Ramapo Valley Road to vehicular traffic prior to winter. The County will continue to advise with respect to the schedule if changes arise."

July 18, 2017: The project, known as Ramapo Valley Road Culvert over Darlington Brook, will result in a section of the Route 202 roadway being closed to all traffic 24/7, including nights and weekends, for approximately

4 months beginning on or about July 10, 2017 through October 2017 (weather and other issues permitting). The project will result in the replacement of the culvert, the relocation of a gas line, and the installation of a new sidewalk on the west side of Route 202, in front of our building.

Traffic detour signs will be posted by the Department of Transportation. Cars coming from the north (Route 17) should follow exit signs for MacArthur Avenue to Darlington Avenue (see map). We do not expect detours for cars traveling from the south (Route 202 from Oakland area).

Please plan accordingly and allow extra time to get to the Schoolhouse.

Information will be updated as it is received from the officials involved in the project.
